A graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology's Postgraduate Diploma in Film Production, Daniel began his career working as production manager on 'A Scare at Bedtime with Podge & Rodge'. He picked up a DV camera and got his break directing on a wide range of magazine and entertainment shows in Ireland, followed by an extended period as director of 'The Soccer Show' for RTE and Sky Sports.
Developing a taste for drama, Daniel attended the BBC's training course for drama directing at Elstree Studios in London. His debut short film, 'Yu Ming Is Ainm Dom' (My Name Is Yu Ming), burst onto the festival scene at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2003, going on to win eighteen awards around the world. Daniel's second short film, 'Fluent Dysphasia', starred Academy Award nominee Stephen Rea and won seven awards at international film festivals.
Daniel's television credits include the IFTA-winning fourth series of RTE's prime time medical drama, 'The Clinic', and the bilingual comedy drama series 'Paddywhackery', which he co-wrote with actor Paddy C. Courtney for TG4. Daniel also directs commercials for Toytown Films, one of Ireland's leading commercials production companies.
