Funded through the Oscailt scheme run by the Irish Film Board and TG4 and shot on HDCam, the film stars Academy Award Nominee Stephen Rea as Murph, who has little to say to his teenage daughter. He wakes one morning after a drunken night out, to find that he can only speak fluent Irish, something he could never do before, and that he has completely forgotten how to speak English. The situation leads to genuine, if unorthodox, communication between father and daughter. There's nothing funny about fluent dysphasia...
Daniel O'Hara received an IFTA nomination for Breakthrough Talent for his second short, which was screened at several prestigious international film festivals, including Raindance in London, Toronto's World Short Film Festival and Cinequest in San Jose. The film's seven awards include:
Audience Award for Best Irish Short - Cork Film Festival 2004
Best Short Film - Belfast Film Festival 2005
Best Fiction - Taipei Golden Horse Short Film Festival 2005
