Having spent her teenage years as a runner in RTE, Gráinne returned from travelling around the world to work as researcher on sports documentary series. Over the last number of years Gráinne has produced many types and genres of programmes - entertainment, documentary, lifestyle and drama, including fly-on-the wall documentary 'Any Given Sunday' and 'Tails from America', which was nominated for an IFTA and a BBC Grierson Documentary Award in 2007. Sport is still a passion and she produced the IFTA nominated series 'Leagues Apart with Ardal O'Hanlon' for RTE in 2006, which involved travelling to some of the top football derbies around Europe!
After going to the 2002 World Cup in Japan she oversaw her first drama production. 2003's award-winning short film 'Yu Ming is Ainm Dom' was followed by 'Fluent Dysphasia' in 2004, which also captured multiple awards around the world. Gráinne's first drama series, 'Paddywhackery', went into development for Dough Productions with TG4 in 2004. Finances for this unique project were raised through the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland, TG4 and Section 481. 'Paddywhackery' was first broadcast in October 2007.
2008 sees Gráinne producing a new six-part documentary series for RTE 2 - 'Hollywood Trials' observes ten Irish actors who travel to Los Angeles to try and make it in the world of film. She is also working with Apres Match for the Euro 2008 championships.
