In this bilingual comedy/drama series, Paddy Woods loses his job at Maxicorp, a multinational American corporation in Dublin. He is tormented by visits from the ghost of Peig Sayers - the long dead, grumpy old Kerry woman, whose miserable autobiography was a compulsory element of the school curriculum. She is on a mission from God to restore faith in Irish among those for whom she tainted the language.

Paddy enlists the help of Siobhán, a former colleague at Maxicorp and fluent Irish speaker, to help him set up questionable business ventures through the Irish language, in order to gain access to the considerable grants available for promoting the national tongue in this way.

The series was nominated for three Irish Film & Television Awards in 2008; Best Script for Television, Special Irish Language Award and Fionnula Flanagan as Best Supporting Actress (TV) for her performance as Peig Sayers.
